Posted by Quentin S Clingerman on 10/23/07 at 01:11 AM The tension and anticipation of a chance(?) meeting. The little drama plays out to a question mark! (Since I do not permit rating of my poems I do not rate others. Comments are more meaningful I think.) |
Posted by JD Clay on 10/23/07 at 03:07 AM Tangential poetry, Richard. This intimate and intricate piece could go so many directions. Mindspun, I have shivers and pangs. Good stuff! |
Posted by George Hoerner on 10/23/07 at 04:11 PM Very nicely done Richard. I have always felt that life is a series of encounters which we tend to let go rather than explore and engage. This is a nice read. |
Posted by Kathleen Wilson on 10/23/07 at 06:53 PM It's those small gestures that indicate so much and make big changes, you've done that here in poetry as it is in life. Beautifully captured. I love the flashes of change, like blinking lights going through this. "she chanced a smile/I looked away"-- one can just feel it and the motions shiver through us. |
Posted by Richard Vince on 10/23/07 at 06:54 PM the beauty of a fleeting moment of wonder almost hidden amongst the ordinary, perfectly captured. great stuff. |
Posted by Kyle Anne Kish on 10/23/07 at 07:19 PM Oh, this is written so well. How many times have we all been "entranced by a stranger?" Thanks for sharing, Richard. |
