Religion by Don Matley
Oh ye of little faith
Who doth preach the mutually exclusive scriptures of the day
Praising your one god that defies and contradicts the gods of all others
Where would we be if no religion moulded our souls?
What new casts would we have to make to ensure the homogeneity of the congregation?
Would there be fewer wars? Less desecration, discrimination, blind faith, superstition, suffering, poverty and malice?
Would we have had Crusaders ramming Christian Creeds down the throats of Infidels?
Or missionaries teaching natives how to survive in the jungle?
Or Indians with religious reservations?
I am inclined to answer in the negative but I am unsure.
But I do know the sun warms, grows crops and reappears each morn if I fall on my knees
At every sunset and pray .

I love the line "Or Indians with religious reservations?" Great play on words and circumstances created by the western expansion. I really like your last thoughts - still pondering and yet grateful for each very special day. Nice job.
