October Night by Kristina Woodhillminutes before 1 a. m.
a gun shot the night awake
and seconds later tag touched
echoes with its mate
both swallowed in an instant
by a hungry maw of black
additions to the silent
dead of night 10/01/2007
Author's Note: gun shots in the country at night - could have been racoons, maybe....
