The Interrogation by Don Matley
Is she beautiful?
Oh yes,of exceptional beauty.
On a scale of one to ten?
An eleven to be sure.
What struck you about her first?
Oh above all her eyes - dark brown - windows to her soul.
And the rest?
The rest doesn't matter.
But is she a looker?
I guess you could say that.
You don't sound very certain?
It doesn't matter. Her inner beauty only matters.
Where did you meet her?
At the airport.
She is not from around here?
No, she doesn't even speak the language.
How did you communicate at first?
With our eyes, our smiles, our being together.
But it was so sudden!
I haven't even met her. And now you tell me your happily married!
Well, what else can I say?
How can this be? Who is she?
She's a mail order bride, made-to-order.
