I am Eve

by Rhonda Maneki

You are liquid fire
through my veins,
the forbidden fruit
within the Garden of Eden,

I'm Eve,
in my nakedness.

I'm drawn to you
in childlike curiosity,
in newness,
as if I have seen you
for the first time,
as if I have tasted you
for the first time,
as if I have never
been touched before,

I am vulnerable,
so raw each time you look at me.
Bared beyond bare,
for I know you see me,
in all my emotion,
you see the truth of who Iam,
You always have.

Even when I have not
seen myself.

I revel in you,
I am immersed in you
my thirst unquenched,
my hunger never sated.

I am Eve,
you are the
forbidden fruit
which I crave.

Beautiful analogy, carried all through. I like that "forbidden fruit" has "liquid fire" in it. I like the honest, spoken glow of this. (Also I think the expression (smile) on you're face in your profile photo looks like you are shyly saying this poem --"I'm Eve". Charming.

Super analogy. I can almost taste the cravings. Enjoyable read.
