Through the roof

by A. Paige White

Do you wonder as you wander
further and further away
if perhaps a gentle smile
would have saved the day?

Do we squint as we squander
the simple gift of a day
relentlessly spent
in selfish pursuits
when a simple selfless prayer
would make -no way- a way?

Could we dent the dauntless
by casting up to heaven
a new golden gauntlet
for September 15, 2007
and September 16th too?

Would the commander and chief
of Myriads bringing power to truth
apprehend a killer, a liar, a thief
and send our praise through the roof?

Would we prevail on His providence
asking forgiveness for our neglect
seeking the rain of His love to rinse
away our doubt and disrespect?

Would we?
Would he?

I really like the first two stanzas; too me a poem in itself.

Excellent thoughts. Gave me chills thinking about the possibilities and the love He has for us. It's finite to infinite and maybe there's no definite answers.
