Posted by Jason Wardell on 09/07/07 at 08:16 PM I love when a haiku can be sonorously conscious (absolutely love things "looming gloomily") as well as fitting into the form's conventions. The sense of sorrow is very real, even if it contrasts with the notion of life brought out with "the pregnant clouds." However, all the best haiku bring about complex reactions in the reader, and you have most definitely done that!
Comments on haiku always make me smile; what a windbag one would have to be to write a comment longer than the poem itself! |
