topic: why did she do that by Ava Blu
at the window
right before dawn
he misses the beat misses the point
in her vocal chords
she wonÂ’t care
i told you,
she doesnÂ’t pay attention to these things
and he doesnÂ’t want to remember
he doesnÂ’t want to be stuck walking on sand
walking away
at the door
right after dusk
he misses the confetti
in her hair
she wouldnÂ’t mind
his clammy palms around her wrists
but heÂ’ll never believe sheÂ’s real
she wonÂ’t do it again with him
and theyÂ’ll both believe
in something outside of the otherÂ’s realm
and will never
touch again.

| Posted by Kyle Anne Kish on 08/31/07 at 09:58 PM Jeanna, you took the topic and ran with it. I love the "confetti in her hair" line. One night stands can be one heck of a problem the next morning ... especially if the person was a friend. Yo. Beautifully done. |

| Posted by Gabriel Ricard on 09/01/07 at 02:42 PM Looks like she gave you a good one. |
| Posted by Kathleen Wilson on 09/03/07 at 02:24 AM Strong, vital expression of what is hard to aknowledge, identify, express. The sparks of detail that make the message clear-- what he does not see or hear--and how different what the "believe" --the "realm" difference is put forth with a pungent voice. The resolute
"she won’t do it again with him" clarifies, encapsulates the pent emotion. |
