You Speak In Whispers

by Melissa Arel

You speak in whispers
Of gentle velvet caress
So my tender heart isn't startled
By the rising torrent flowing
Over your honeyed-tongue
And into my ears.

Words of softness embrace me
As thoughts of you take residence
In the innermost parts of my soul
Where my spirit and mind languish
For your love.
