Posted by Maria Kintner on 08/28/07 at 12:07 PM Wow - this is what I was feeling this morning. I couldn't quite say it so well. Awesome. |

When the stars dance for just a breath,
And you'll miss the whole event
If you don't stay awake."
This took me back many years to an August night when they said there would be an awesome meteor shower that wouldn't be repeated again for a long time. We got everything ready, backed the truck out into the pasture, blankets and pillows in the bed of it, and at the height I woke my kids up and we lay in the back of the truck for hours staring at the meteor showers, talking, laughing... Thank you so much for reminding me of this wonderful memory. |
Posted by Sandy M. Humphrey on 08/28/07 at 05:19 PM I too am feeling the lunar crossing and this is so beautifully expressed. smh |
Posted by Michelle Angelini on 08/28/07 at 09:35 PM Incredible how the moon inspires the muse. I saw a beautifully full one last night and got a blurb down. Maybe you and Maria's poems will inspire me to finish it.

Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 08/29/07 at 02:34 PM I'm so glad to see this as POTD! I love the exploration of journeys not taken here and the call to staying awake for possibilities is truly inspiring! Using the eclipse as an analogy is brilliant. Lovely poem! |
