autumn/adversary by Corey Lockabysometimes autumn is hard to take
with the blushing leaves whisking across the pavement
i sing softly to the air
with stuttering eyes
you're my only witness
so go up to the stand
run with my flesh, strip my cold bones
like swarm, like hunger
you can ravage me if you want
i am helpless to those ideals that you've held
i want grassy floor for my love
i want to know what it feels like to move
or to be out of place?
and when i'm old, i'll want to be young
but right now, i just don't want to be alone
i want to stand up to the cold wind that usually just bowls me over
my favorite season
