Last Chance

by Melissa Arel

I gave you my heart and you threw it aside
You said you'd take care of it, but that was a lie
I gave you three children, lovely and pure
You said things to them no one should endure

We deserve better than what you have given us
If you want me to love you, then regain my trust
Being a strong woman and mom isn't a crime
I'm handling this drama one day at a time

Yes, I'm taking back this life of mine
I'm tired of these games, today I draw the line
I've told you how it is, I've taken a stance
This is how its going to be, It's your last chance

Well written Mel. I hope it is not a true story for you....Charlie

Well said, Melissa...and the cadence seems so apropos for the subject. Really makes your point, I think! Thanks.

Right on....stick up for you and your kids..and prayfully everything will work out...sounds like it has been a long time in coming, sometimes a last chance is the best chance too.

You've written better poems, Mel, but none sadder or more honest. Like you, i hold out hope for the deliverance of that last chance.

You've stated it firmly, clearly, succinctly. May God bless you and "standing by your guns". May God bring about the solution as you seek His guidance.

oh mel, and it sucks for me to hear you're going through some hard times...I will definitely keep you in my prayers!
