lil lizard

by Mary Ellen Smith

there

in the back yard

a tiny lil green lizard.

ever so teeny tiny.

the ever so big, not two yet

lil boy gets his hands on it.

didn't squish it

didn't pound it

didn't hug it too very hard.

and with a lil coaxing from dad

placed it in the dirt

and watched it zip away.

maybe to come back another day

when both are older and not so green.

Author's Note: Grandson and a lil lizard...inspired from pics my son took of the whole meeting.

Wonderful moments for the memory book for the youngster.
