Fantasia

by Alisa Js

truth has fallen and these eyes are now awake
opened for maybe the first time
in a long time, maybe ever
careless and naive I was
trusting in the darkened smirk of one I never saw
in daylight's breath
curiously I still believed
but for reasons yet conceived ...

emotions plunge way deep beyond
impaled, I struggle to think, to blink
to see
beyond this anger's raging steam
of obvious
ridiculous,
of what the hell
was I even thinking with you,
your colors true
forgotten in the newness of each dismal dawn
and I turned away
not wanting to accept
reflect,
or correct my ways
shit! it felt so good
deliriously
how I wanted to believe ...

a belief that I, even I
who has stumbled past obstacles blooming
in that great unknown,
could stand a chance
with the likes of you
a real romance,
you've got no clue ...

Catchy syntax Alisa makes for an easy fun read, despite the serious inspiration behind it. Just hope all these poems are about one person and not a whole string of frogs masquerading as prince charming.
