SORRY by Joan SerratelliI'm sorry
for the things I did
for the way I acted
and the things i said
Can you understand
that i only did them
out of a sense
of love and caring
If anything happened to you
I would die
I would not want to live
in a world
without you
I know
right now you're mad
furious att me
and maybe you have a right
You need to know
that my first priority
is you
I cannot take care of you
you need to take care of yourself
I love you
more than anything
I could say
I just want you
to be well
You yell at me
that I don't care
nothing could be further
from the truth
I worry about you
maybe too much
but that's just me
I don't want
to fight;to scream and yell
I jusst want us to get along
Is that too much to ask? 06/17/2007 Author's Note: This poem is dedicated to my husband- the one I love more than life!

| Posted by Michelle Angelini on 06/21/07 at 05:26 AM Joan, how beautiful, loving, and vulnerable this is. Your words are those of compromise - meeting half way. I hope you show your husband this poem. Maybe slip it in his lunch or briefcase, or something like that, so he can find it when he's away from you.
