The Sweetest Song

by Melissa Arel

Like the cheeky cherubim
Disguised as birds upon a limb
You sing to me the sweetest tunes
As we lay in our sacred room.

Breathing in each other’s song
I find this is just where I belong
Cradled in your protective arms
I fall susceptible to your charms.

And as our bodies gently mesh
Fevered whispers upon my flesh
The nighttime burning stars take flight
While we partake in love tonight.

Beautiful, but not overwhelming. Nicely understated.

Been awhile since I've read a poem from you...but your touch is still there, your lines still magical Mel...going to show true talent hibernates, but never dies
