my ability with words fails me
and i am left with disconnected points
scattered on a page;
your pen can bring them back
together-
follow the numbers in
proper order,
but don't expect a pretty picture;
it's a tangled mess
that
more resembles
thought
less
logic;
your pen can also call the shots;
connect whichever dots you choose
in whatever fashion;
make some sense of me, if you would-
but that
would be missing the point 05/31/2007 Posted on 05/31/2007 Copyright © 2024 Andrew S Adams

Posted by Charlie Morgan on 04/24/08 at 03:44 PM ...andrew, this is so billy collins-ish...he writes one on Introduction to Poetry, and he/it says a line about dropping a mouse in your pome[sic]and let him find his way out...but more specifically [like you say of 'figgerin you out' would be missing the point of your writing...he say[at the end of the same pome]
"they begin beating it[the pome]with a hose
to find out what it really means"...i see your words in this...charlie |
