Cancer

by Jacki M Butler

You lie there in the hospital bed
We're talking like normal
Like any other day
You're ok, at least for now

How can in just hours
You fade into yourself
Gone, but not completely
Here, but not really

I wish you could just let go
You are suffering and we know that
I love you, and I will help your kids through this
You need to let go and go home

We all love you
We will miss you so much
But you don't need to worry about us
We will love you forever
And will never forget you

Author's Note: Dawn, my mom's best friend....my second mother.....its time for you to go home. You can't keep suffering like this. It is so hard to watch you in pain. We love you, Chris & Jess will be ok, I'll be there for them.

Tough to read, man. But that doesn't stop it from being very, very beautiful.

A very difficult time - your thoughts and concerns come through clearly - your compassion is great.

Well, maybe she held on for Mother's Day??? This is so poignantly sad. I hope that peace comes soon, to all of you.
