Condescending

by Kristina Woodhill

Can I talk to you directly
or is there really this
need to go through some delicate
dialogue designed (in your mind) to
eliminate the inevitable
self suspicion that you've
committed yourself to something
evolutionary in
nature, something that may have
dire consequences for your comfort zone
I'd like to think there's more than
noodles in the soup here, but I'm getting a
glimpse that you like eating with a slotted spoon

Very nice! How often to we let little truths slip through our mind somehow leaving a bit of reality for others to see what we have missed. I love it.

The lasst 3 lines make this poem a gem :-) Alot said here; too bad the person it's aimed at (probably) wouldn't get it!

You too? I often have to bite back the question... Did you press the wrinkles from your condescension before you donned it this morning? Because your creases seem to be increasing. grrrrr it's hard to swallow. Really enjoyed your take on it.

...kristina, NO! you can't talk to anybody directly, didn't you know that already, nahahaha, kristina, i too like the last three lines, but i read it several times annnd i like it all, especially when i read the author's note of a work place situation...the start: can i talk to you directly?...too much... ;-)...communication unlike what Cap'n Kirk says issss the last frontier, eh?...i love this lil' treatise on one aspect of the human condition...good work...peace, chaz

Hi Kristina. I'd agree with Chaz, few are admitted when it comes to communication. Fewer when it must be direct. Good write. Thanks.

A touch of sarcasm, a touch of humor, unique analogy (noodles and slotted spoon).

Hi Kristina, Good one. I also agree with others too. :)
