Just to be...

by Cathlyn Cartier

Just to be lost in a moment of silence, without the burdens, stresses and cares.

Just to be me; not mother, spouse, teacher... just to exist and to dwell in my own realm.

Just to be free, to be myself, and not a referee, caught in the middle of someone else's disputes.

Just for a moment, Just for a day... Just for once, I'd like just to BE.

Author's Note: I don't know... I'm just lost and searching for answers where there are none.

Many of us have been there in one way or another. Gotta "take" those moments as you can. May God give you peace and rest in the midst of the storm(s).

Since I was here begging for entrance... I know just how you feel. I guess everyone travels through this particular valley at some time or another. I've recently been looking at as a shift. So many are preparing for a major shift in their lives and I think part of the preparation for it is in experiencing just what you describe. That's my two cents anyway. Glad to know I'm not alone in it.

I like this. But just one question, did you consider ending in with "...just to BE"? I feel it rounds up and closes the poem and is more in accordance with the flow. Still, a great poem.

I think we are all searching for that moment when we can just be. But it begs the question what matters more the search or the moment.

Your longing is evident and well expressed.

you express a need and desire that resonates in every human heart - to be at peace for a moment. to find those moments, sometimes we must remove ourselves from the insanity that is our life and steal away for even an hour and other times, we must find those moments in the midst of chaos - you have described this beautifully! i hope you found your moment..

there is much to glean from this thoughtful ode twixt the need to belong to others and the need to belong to ourselves.
