(Talked down to) Senryu

by A. Paige White

Love regards our plight
Condescension creases worth
So, prayers bend the knees

Author's Note: And don't I love the discipline?

You strike a common cord in the human heart!

This is one of the best senryu I have read. It says so much. One of the things I like about haiku and senryu is the discipline it requires. It is amazing how - if I put my mind to it - I really can boil down my message honoring the triggering thought with simplicity. That is what you do here. I love every line and how each reveals a new dimension of experience. The middle line touches me. It makes me realize the power someone else's simple remark or tone of voice can have and how it can send me to prayer - a good place to me.
