Leaves Fall by Alisa JsWe traveled swift with twisted feet
But reached the same destination,
With star-struck eyes we watched the leaves
Falling in every direction,
Marveling at the veins inside
How they blew apart the pages from our weary, smudge-laced faces ..
Let me turn back here and stay a while
As we stripped away the innards, slow,
How I wished I could inch between
The softness of the layers
And lay right there and fall sleep
For a brief interlude, if not forever
So peaceful was this scene…
