A Pirate's Dream

by Therese Elaine

A Pirate's Dream

That you shall find this vagabond heart
beats to the same rhythm as your own
that together we might seek out land
despite being tempest-tossed by life
and the albatrosses we both carry
around our necks.
That you shall put your ear to my heart
and hear the ocean's roar engulfing you
that I'll put my hand in yours
and find the trade wind of calm
that you surround me with.
That we'll be each other's beacons
through the fog that is
the inconsistancy of life
that we'll both push for that shore
that promises haven and home

That you'll give me a bit of your ship
and I'll give you a bit of my tide.

Author's Note: Someone told me to write a dream and put it in a locket -this is it -and its still in the locket.

I am firmly tied to your ship and amazed at its cargo, its treasure. What a dream to keep close and what a remembrance of it! Quite lovely, my dear. Thanks.
