I Could Never Stay

by Bek Williams

I'll take the 7.99 meal
A ticket for the last train
Gonna find a new place
Gotta get a new name

I've been driving all night long
Singing with the mixtape you made me
I've been hoping it's not wrong
Cos running away is what I do best

And the tunes
In my head
Keep me company
When you're not around
Which is often
I've found

Two more days
Slip away
Now I've got
Two more reasons to say
I could never stay

I'll grab a gatorade and power bar
And say I had a big lunch
Cos I don't have time to talk
But somehow I don't do much

I'm too busy thinking how
The world just turns 'round and 'round
And despite your indiscretions
I am still willing to take you back

I do alot of thinking/writing poetry while driving so I can appreciate this write. I can also appreciate the situation and message. I see a bit of my own writings in this, the situations explained I have lived myself it feels. Very true and honest. ~JPP
