there is no "The" in poetry
by Maria Francescathere is no "The"
in poetry -
it simply isn't done.
There is no "And",
"Because" or "But" -
these words must all be shunned.
the poet nazis
set the rules -
protect them like their family jewels;
defy them
and be marked a fool,
unfit to walk in sun.
well, I say
blow the rules to hell
and blow the nazis there as well
and if you wish to coin new words
and be obscure,
obscene,
absurd,
then blessings to you -
glory be!
you'll get no argument from me.
your pen has wings,
so write -
be free!
and most of all,
