Vanquished by Alisa JsIt was something we included in everything
Always,
Refreshing as the first hint of morning
Awesome against our silhouette
Wrapping about,
As we greeted each new day
Whether speaking or writing,
Or just hanging around
Ever present,
A part of 'us' or so I thought
So I believed,
I lived for those measures of devotion
That flowed from your soul
Effortlessly,
Life giving notes full of great assurance
Until yesterday,
And they were gone ...
Did they lose their way, somehow
Or simply forget how to stay afloat
Within you
Waiting to be shared again
Where they belonged,
Now missing in action, missing in deed
My world is bleak
Desolate even,
No shades of gray
As I sit here and ponder
The lack of those three
Incredible melodies of love,
That treasured phrase
I came to need,
Meant everything to me ...
Guess I'll pick up the pieces
And try to begin
Again,
Doubtful, I think
I'm vanquished ... 03/20/2007 Posted on 03/20/2007 Copyright © 2026 Alisa Js

| Posted by Tony Whitaker on 03/20/07 at 08:19 PM I think I want to go kill myself. You sure know how to paint 'dark'. Now I feel vanquished since this one beats me in the ground. You know how to write from the heart. Excellent write Alisa. Ciao! |

| Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 03/22/07 at 04:33 PM That treasured phrase of "I love you" can be so painful when that significant other can no longer say the words. Been there...done that...bought the T-shirt. Aptly expressed Alisa. :o) |
