Glimpses

by Alisa Js

the silence of your kiss
brushes against my tenderness,
with a sensual twist
among these misty tradewinds
as I stand here,
ten floors above
the roar down below ...

I am all at once
where I found myself years ago,
on that mid-summer's eve

our lips met without warning
quite unexpectedly,
as I gazed past tomorrow
and died deep inside,
how could this perfection be captured again?

this moment I'll keep
and treasure quietly,
on days like today
whenever I catch myself
staring beyond that great partition,
of what could have been
but not meant to be ...

I really enjoyed this. It kinda made it okay to remember small tidbits of the past and without any regret, remorse, or the thought that something was missed. Sometimes it is nice to just appreciate something and someone happening because it made you who you are today. ~JPP

i, too, remember a kiss and all it's devastingly interesting consequences...it warms both my soul and my cheeks. beautifully written, my dear.

" ... quite unexpectedly, as I gazed past tomorrow and died deep inside, ..." ... such perfection in these lines, Alisa. You've taken a moment in time and made it more than a brief time of importance. It is embedded to relive on rainy days, gloomy days and even perfect days in your life. Beautiful read.
