Living Memories

by Jeffrey Parren

It truly is a pleasure of mine
to come into contact with people
who remind me what it is to be alive
and it quickly grounds me, too.
Finding that I am not alone,
those minute snippets
those mental image moments
when all in life has meaning
and I can put myself in any place
at any time and be happy again,
with utter flawlessness.
I store up those moments
for rainy days
or long winter months
and they keep my mind warm
with hope and comfort
for these cold days so dreary
will soon end, and spring will
indeed be upon us once again.

Author's Note: Working in a restaurant can be good, too, I guess. I learned tonight the missing faces as well as the random faces can bring light to a dreary Sunday shift during cold times.

I really enjoy how you write about people and how they touch you. Thank you.
