In the Green #2

by Kristina Woodhill

Now when Mathew was but a wee boy
friends gave him a squeaky new toy
a passing dog chewed it
completely gnawed through it
His mum's face now smiles with joy

Too funny! SQUUEEEEKA SQUUUEEEEKA! Oh yes, I know those toys. The dogs usually have them when I volunteer with the shelter. Giving is a joy, but silence sometimes even better. hahaha!

another great limerick! i just love this form of poetry - its quick, easy to read, and fun! this one made me laugh because i've so been there... giving squeaky toys to children and then hearing about it from the 'rents afterwards
