Crying Up

by Kyle Anne Kish

I'm wondering, wondering, wondering
why heavy laden tears must always fall down
and carry their dejected sadness
to sink into callused ground.

Why can't tears evaporate on cheeks
... fall up, toward sunlit sky,
be transformed into pastel glitter
and returned to face with delicate sigh?

And from there the soft caress
of soulful anguish one has faced
would reflect the thoughts of rainbows
and heavy heartedness be erased.

Tears do go up as they fall - the heart lifts - I love this poem, Lovely Lady..

What a beautiful sentiment. When I pass through some weary lacrimal baptism, I always call to mind that God catches our tears in His bottle.

Very well written Kyle. I'm impressed with the sensitivity! But why should I be, after all you are human and willing to share. Great write!

...have you considered the fact these sad tears have to die to their sadness so they can rise again? in all their glory reflected in the breath taking beauty of the glorious rainbow??? Just like the tiny acorn gives way to the mighty oak.... just a thought...;-)

Too bad for gravity, otherwise our tears would nurture the air like the rain, which also falls down. Such a beautiful thought and so well said. Seems I've been doing too much crying lately, for someone I'll never see again. Thanks for the wonderful thoughts here, my friend - and sometimes, through the tears I can smile. ;-)

Kyle- as a champion cryer, I relate so well to this piece. I have often wondered where my tears go and if there is an endless supply :-(

Love your re-invention of the natural world here-- tears on another planet--so beautifully simple and right. I love the way you move the furniture of our experience--toward light and soothing color. Rainbow of a poem, and even rhyming with lovely grace.
