He gave

by Rhonda Maneki

You gave me a wish of love upon a card,
With beautiful words written
upon it, but, those were only words.
mere words, just words.

Were they ever yours?

Hours later - when you decided,
that I never never fit into
your life.

You told me bluntly.
Without emotion.

Who are you anyway?
I don't know you!
Or did I ever?

The daggers you slide into
my heart, oh so silently
slept there, without even
my knowing. You slid them
in so easily then pulled
them out to watch me bleed.
In one foul swoop of
a phrase.

How could a lie last so long
and how could you,
use my softness,
my gentle nature to
ease your pain.

I'm not even crying,
No tears,
no nothing,

Just

Resolve

It will never happen again.

I don't ever want
an "I love You"
From a false heart.

I'm kinda speechless. Quite a good description of an awful thing though. :(

I'm so very sorry. "In one foul swoop of a phrase."
