To break the sagital plane

by Lacy D Phillips

Batteries are bought in pairs.
It takes three (for the sake of inconvenience)
to power my deception of the world at large -
only odd numbers for my facade.
I have engineered it this way,
so that you are left with one extra
that rolls around the junk drawer,
detritus' mecca.

Author's Note: The biological concept of bilateral symmetry is fascinating. Only one vertical plane, called the sagital plane, will divide most organisms into roughly mirror image halves.

Extremely interesting, and wonderfully vivid writing, too. A fascinating write. Thank you.
