Not Impossible

by Alisa Js

Sitting here looking at you
It all comes rushing back,
Maybe more than I want it to
Maybe more than I can safely say right here …

Amazing how the mind does work
Connecting the dots straight to one’s heart,
Rushing around the vortex of emotions
And swirling away before words come,
To protect that heart
That beating heart
From too much suffering
But who said, ‘suffering?’
Guess that depends on who’s listening,
And who said suffering was bad?

Is suffering like longing
Is longing like wanting
Is wanting another way to say
Hmmmm….

Take a deep breath
It’s always the same
What does that mean?
Need to clear my thoughts
And write again …

Over and over
These words I feel
So I don’t forget
How could I?
Impossible, you say?
Well, there’s nothing really impossible …

Evocative and thought provoking as usual. Reminds me of my own life, and how some of the best lessons I've learned have been through adversity and suffering.
