So Long My Sweet Darling

by Tony Whitaker

As the twilight breaks the night
as the shadows take their flight
into my heart I feel the bite
for it won’t be long
I’m going on
I’m going on
I’m so alone

As I sense the dawn breaking
I feel the ground shaking
and I know you won’t be waiting
for it won’t be long
I’m going on
I’m going on
I’m so alone

And the rain drops keep on falling
down my cheeks I feel them crawling
I’ll never forget you my sweet darling
so sad to know the memory
before long
of me forgone
into the gloam
but we had the dawn
I'm so alone

As I look upon the dew
upon my feet thinking of you
wishing you felt the same way too
I’ll miss you all the same
It’s time to go
I’ll miss you so
I'll miss you so

And the raindrops keep on falling
down my cheeks I feel them crawling
I’ll never forget you my sweet darling
so sad to know the memory
before long
of me forgone
into the gloam
but we had the dawn
I'm so alone

Kleenex in hand - I would love to hear this sung. Nice job.
