croagh patrick

by Peter Humphreys

o
yes
yes it is
it really is
yes really we
have got there
at last my god it
was some climb and
before below beside
us is the whole county
from clare island to glen
nephin from achill to the egg
basket islands scattered carefree
in clew bay all my life I have longed
for this never believing never trusting
I could make it no no we could make it as
one leaning against each other in the granite
certitude of the reeks breathing panting sucking
in the coital air of heaven soaring seaward as if
with granuaille red haired fecund brave tyrannical
loving living lusting life upon the mayo shore yes yes
as molly said yes yes yes we made it together as one as
upon the setting sun a skylark taunts us tough old pilgrims
heaven bent on heaven time still spent together yes yes as one

Absolutely exciting, Peter! Well done...and I do love, "in the granite certitude of the reeks." Thanks.

perfect union of form and content, and o atop the "croagh patrick" --height of yesrs perspective, yes, and I will call this love,'my mountain flower' and of a life's union, 'all perfume...yes I will, yes'....

What a wonderful way to make love. It's just beautiful. The form, the words, the emotion - everything. Incredible Peter. ;-)

Brilliant formatting. Logical flow, intensity of feeling.
