heavy or thin

not color
or length of hair
not with whom
we seldom share

not time
useless and years spent
not words of truth
which belies dissent

not lightning in a bottle
here then gone
not a new knight
disappearing with the dawn

loveis blind
to time or to reason
love is forever
holds no season

love is not defined
by mere words alone
love is the answer
when all is gone

i've loved and lost
said ‘never again’
but what is life
without the love of a friend

so waste not your time
trying to define
know what love’s not
