A Moment Lost in Time

by P.T. Brooks

A moment lost in time
And you were happy there
But you prefered a quick fix
Nothing constant but somthing you could count on
A new scene with a new night
Tho the mornings seemed so hard
Lonley seemed a small price
For a less than damaged heart
As your life procedes you
I wonder if you recall
Snow angels in the winter
And fires in the fall
Or the way you felt
When you felt the way I do
In knowing what it takes to make
All your dreams come true
And i wonder where you are
And how your life has turned
Or if it even has
And the lessons that you've learned
I wonder if you found a place
that lets you know your smile
cuase theres a moment lost in time
you knew it all the while
you were happy there
With me

What really makes this poem tangible is the detail, "Snow angels in the winter/ And fires in the fall" that enriches the overall emotional concept and wistfulness--of a life once connected going on alone.

A lovely one here, though the tone is one of sadness and longing, wondering what could have been. On a housekeeping note, I noticed some typos I'd like to bring to your atttention... line #3: preferred, line #4:something, line#7: lonely, line #9:proceeds, line#17: I, line#23 cause.... thank you for stopping by and for your kind sentiment... Welome to Pathetic ...from out here in the blue Pacific.. aloha..;-)

I envy the snow angel memories and the voice in this has a howl hidden behind it to me. Welcome to Pathetic!

Very little in life is constant. But I love this writing. Sometimes the memory will just never leave us. You have captured the moment well. Nice write!

it is always for those who persist in holding onto love to wonder what ever became the one they loved and still do? to rue lost love is to hope its return. lovely ode.
