Broken

by Alisa Js

you break my heart
although you don't mean to
more than likely
you're not even aware,
doesn't mean it's not true ...

walkways and byways we all travel down
why do the clouds often cover?
the essence of life
language of love
too many have messed up those books,
scribbled in all the wrong places
scratched out what they thought were lies
if only for them and no other ...

how can you think it doesn't matter?
when you do exactly NOT what you say
I listen with open eyes
and want to believe
only to get slammed when I see
the obvious,
though nobody says
guess I'm just supposed to go on
like nothing is happening right in front of my driveway,
in front of my view,
just sit here and act like I don't know?

I no longer understand this book
guess I read all the wrong chapters,
screwed up my outlook
messed up my life,
failed all the tests
I've no longer a clue ...

the handwriting's as clear as a bell
yet all I can hear is that double-speak,
something about nothing
and nobody sees
triumphs in the day of deceit
nothing left for me here,
guess I'll just turn the page ...
what else can I do?

Author's Note: Have you ever reached the end of your hope and don't know what else to do? How many ways can you tell someone there is only one? And once you have found that one, you will wait for all eternity if that's what is takes....

Good example of how love and heartbreak can scramble our thoughts...lives. Some great lines in this, especially the writing metaphors such as: too many have messed up those books, scribbled in all the wrong places scratched out what they thought were lies if only for them and no other...
