The Phone Call

by Joan Serratelli

I'm tired
so tired
but I cannot
allow myself to sleep

You see,
I'm waiting
for that phone
to ring

I might sleep
right through
the ringing
so here I sit
just waiting
for that phone
to ring

It'll be good news
I know it
but I have to wait
because it hasn't rung
in a while
so here I sit
just waiting
for the phone
to ring

Author's Note: I'm waiting for a very important phone call that could come at anytime....day or night.

Sadly, I can relate to it, too. You captured this whole thing a lot better than I ever could have done.

The anxiety this world creates is voluminous. Hang in their...maybe call them and put an end to it! Take care.

LOL! Never heard of voice mail??? Seriously though, we've all been there, especially if it involves a job offer!!! Thanks for the reminder. :)
