Different Seas

by Melissa Panther

You're gone...
I don't imagine you'll ever return,
You don't drift upon my shores any longer.
I see you and you're different somehow,
The wind catches your sail and swiftly carries you away,
Unlike the days you would meander the soft waters.
Things have changed,
I've changed.
The past is only a memory now, and one at that,
Not easily thought of, for good reason I suppose.
Thinking of you is like remembering the bitter sweet days of summer,
Of childhood, of mud puddles, and rainbows.
So I guess it's only expected that years bring change,
And change brings differences,
But I still remember you,
Even though we sail different seas,
And life moves in varied tides.

" ... Thinking of you is like remembering the bitter sweet days of summer, Of childhood, of mud puddles, and rainbows. So I guess it's only expected that years bring change, And change brings differences,..." ... I like the childlike feel I get from these lines. It makes me remember that hearts can be broken, but the memories can, one day, be beautiful. Welcome to Pathetic.
