Your eyes speak,
having their very own
silent vocabulary,
unique in its subtlety,
afire with a gleam
in which simple hope
carries more weight
than heavy doubt,
perhaps exceeds
the density of despair.
And though I have yet
to savor your caresses,
I am embraced
by that stare.
