Amelia: in safety and beauty.

by Andrew S Adams

i see your silhouette cast on the opposite
wall of your bedroom when the streetlights
dance outside your window;
you move in slowmotion, your breaths magnified
underneath the sheets,
the safety in your arms is intangible,
but completely inextricable from the moment

and the words you speak replace these lost
expressions of mine; my heart listens
as you illuminate this empty room inside-

i let down the walls,
your silhouette cast on the
infinte plane of my soul,
covering and consuming mine
in safety and beauty.
