Switch the attitude (or what I would like to do) by Maria Terezia Ferencz
Pondering
the world I decide to
switch people around
Move
all ways they view
the world
smooth their attitude
I am playing switch
inside my mind
trying to see inside
write it out
let you decide
what reality lies
between attitude and truth
I'll take the woman
with shoes too tight
switch her with a man
who lost his legs but not
his life
and never once complained
Sweep a whining man
right off his feet
whose steak is overdone
replace him with a man
who has nothing to eat
yet never complains to anyone
I'll yank the one right out of bed
beside a sleeping wife
who despises her
blames her for strife
with a man who has no one
switch narcissistic beautiful rich
she thinks her breasts are small
with a cancer stricken older woman
who has no breasts at all
Take the power hungry politic
replace him with the man
the one he pretends to care about
but does not understand
trade the eyes of a mother
who is annoyed she must rise from bed
to sooth her crying child
with a mother whose son
is dead
You can now see where I am traveling
Do you like the view?
It is the not the world
we are unhappy with
it is what is inside of you
