Dinner Party

by Quinlan L Gibson

Hello! Come in, come in.
Let me take your conscience and
introduce you around.
Arrogance is here, blinding in bling.
Ego is chatting it up in the kitchen with Vanity.
Greed is playing the piano while Pride belts showtunes.
Oh, there's good ole Gluttony setting out the appetizers.
and our good friend Narcissism brought the finest wine.
Won't you join us? There is plenty of room.

how's about a shout out to sloth? jk, you covered the important bases here, and in a fresh way -- cool topic, quin. reminds me of a few hoity toity dinner parties of days past...love your dark humor, as always. PK

one of the best things i've read on here in some time. plain & smart...out of nowhere and not overly poetic like 99% of everything else in the world. feels like a sophisticated mess...i love it.

CONGRATS ON POTD! :) Very knife twisting.

This is a serendipitous poem with all the characteristics of the consummate crasher and it leaves me to wonder what’s for dessert. Congratulations on becoming The Party Girl Of The Day, Quin. Incidentally, my split personality wants your number.

Excellent metaphoric update to the seven deadly sins or pretty dang close to them Quin. Adds to favourites.
