October Rain

by Leonard M Hawkes

There is a coziness
In the grey, cold light
Of autumn rain.

Radience perhaps
From gold and yellow
Of linden and ash,

Or residue of late
Summer's bloom yet unfrosted
In the garden mud.

Yes, I would snuggle
Down warm in the flesh
And dream.

I'm really pleased to see works by you again. Your words are truly from close to the heartbeat of the earth. Thank you.
