her smile cries

by Charlie Morgan

coal pits—her eyes, tributaries to the soul;
cover the pain of the eighth grade insults:
fat girl, two by four and gigantus.
and now she lives in between loves;
an old man, and same-age friends,
dragging meaning with her lust-driven day,
looking for love.
