the price of dissatisfaction

by Morgan D Hafele

so this is the price of dissatisfaction.
disconnection. disconnection. disconnection.
and your jumbled words hop from line to line
shivering faults of thought and... disconnection.
breath. slow, take it all in.
realization of what you are doing, each step
in any direction is one less that will eventually
,inevitably, lead to self destruction
on a greater scale than can be understood
by words
left tattooed in the back of tattered clothing
hidden in threads wearing thin and skin
breaks under harsh conditions and my eyes
are colder than winter's first frost and colder still
than your empty shell... disconnection.
fluids run, pool, puddle up and the present is
once again the past, turning, twisting
violent reflections of what is yet to be.
and i see you still bubbling
suffocating in the darkness you
created for yourself while my
creations bear fruit
sweeter than your tongue could ever understand.

so this is the price of dissatisfaction.
...bang!
disconnect.
you're dead.

Despite the disconnection above and below the surface here, thought provoking reconnection to the writing community, and subtle reflection of the world at large, in light of recent events in the news.

This reads like catharsis in the wake of frustration followed by resignation, and the disconnection is as you say, inevitable, not of choice. A suggestion - perhaps 'appreciate' could be substituted for 'understand' in the 'sweeter than your tongue' line, to connect more readily with the 'fruit' metaphor?
Much bubbling beneath the surface of these dense atmospherics.

I'd eat it, even if it was oatmeal.

I totally don't remember saying that.
