Home Pride

by Dave Fitzgerald

I feel my heart well up with pride
For the Welsh within my soul.
Beauty with me at my side
As this beauty we behold.
Twmbarlwm watches over
The meander of the Usk,
Welsh beauty all consuming,
As my lifetime flows to dusk.
Vast, small principality
Of valleys and mountains, green.
As this world fills up with greyness
This eighth wonder should be seen.

Dave, this is a very nice poem. I feel the same about my homeplace. I wanted to see a picture of Twmbarlwm, so I did an internet search that pulled up another of your poems on Pathetic. It had the note at the bottom about the hill. :)

It certainly does sound beautiful. Picture perfect literary post card sir.
