Hey You! Rebel with no real cause...

by Kristi Paik

I never asked you if you missed me
Yet you felt so compelled to say it

I never asked you to say you care
I preferred you didn’t say it

I never asked you to make me care
And somehow you made me anyway

My heart is a door locked tight and sealed
But you managed to find the doggie door

I never asked you inside
But here you are smoking my pot
And strumming my guitar

I never asked you to say you still love me
Hell I even said never lie to me again

Wonderful Kristi- I love the way you deal with this situation. I also like the short stanzas and the ending. Excellent write!

You know, I don't think you need that second line in the second to last stanza. I really don't. But that's just me. The rest of it's great, wonderfully honest stuff.
