why I write

by Vere Mantratriad

I write
          because
I empathize
      with paper;
nothing
    should be left
blank
      and useless.

Hi Vere. I do like what you have here. It adds a certain sympathy to the writing obsession, it's just more clarity in the world for all of us.

Vere, I love this! It's absolutely precious and I guess it goes along with your love of animals, that no pet should go unloved.

Very nice! I once wrote a poem from my pen's point of view - how it didn't get any credit for the poems that were written. ;)

One of my favorite authors Tom Robbins once said in answering a question about writing "Our great human adventure is the evoulution of consciousness. We are in this life to enlarge the soul, liberate the spirit and light up the brain." I often think of that quote when reading poetry on this site including yours...keep up the good work all poets pathetic that light up the brain. smh

Absolutely profound. One of the best poems I've read on the subject in a long time. Adds to favourites.

Short, sweet, right to the point and TRUE!
